Edgar Allan Poe was a famous gothic writer whom was the inspiration for the writings of many including myself. Though his
life was far from pleasant, he's poetry intrigues and excites readers still today. Poe lead an tragic life and some of his
work is played out through his writing. His fears and joys are expressed in some of his most famous works. He isn't the only
one who lead a sad life and wrote to be what maybe an escape from the pain of daily life. Mary Shelley was also considered
to be a gothic writer. The loss of her first born child merely eleven days after it's birth, and her husband feeling it was
his fault for his first wife commiting suicide. Then the creation of her monster Frankenstein let her imagination fly free.
Yet another inventor of well-known monsters is Bram Storker. His creature of the night, better known as Dracula has been transformed
throughout the ages. From the birth of the origional creation, to the almost romantic version of vampires now. Though writing
is taken in many forms some people take it to the next level, such as Clive Barker. His dark and "gothic" transition
from heaven to hell is transfered from paper to the movie screen. Showing the change from contemporary writing to true visuals
of the writing. Through my website I will open my work up to the world and allow others to share their work on my site.
